A Quilty Mother's Day Gift

No - No small appliance gifts for this quilter!

Sweet Man usually leaves the decision of my Mother's Day gift to me. And while those that know me, know that all our children have 4 feet & tails, we celebrate Mother's & Father's Day in this house - any excuse for gifts & celebrations works for us! He handles the cards (yes, more than one), flowers (unless I say otherwise), and sweet treats.

That's not to say, he doesn't surprise me  with presents, because he does - it just depends on the year.  DH is a good gifter - but he is married to an unpredictable woman!

One year, my Mother's Day gift was a compound miter power saw.

He never saw that one coming.  I made a cool oversize mirror frame with it right away!

This year my Mother's Day gift is very much Quilt related! Tomorrow I'll be at Sew Generously to..

Spend a Day with Frieda Anderson!

  Award-Winning Art Quilter,

National Speaker and Bernina Brand Ambassador!

Frieda’s original quilts are inspired by colors from nature and the everyday scenery that   surrounds her living in a mid-west landscape.
Frieda works mostly with her own hand dyed cotton and silk fabrics. The dyeing process  is always a fun surprise.
Frieda has been making quilts for over 40 years and is currently a BERNINA Ambassador working on the new 750Q machine.
Frieda will also have plenty of her own hand-dyed fabric available for purchase!
The above was snipped from the Sew Generously website - we'll be having a lecture/trunk show/demo, lunch and then an afternoon hands on workshop making a beautiful fused quilt  - Field Poppies!
I am so excited!!!
And did you catch that last part about the hand dyed fabric for sale....
Happy Mother's Day!!
