The Weekend - Part 2, The Stitching

Since the grass cutting was limited to the dry two-thirds of the property, and most all the branches to be picked up were already in a pile that I had to shift over 50 feet, I had plenty of time to sew.

Well, of course, a sewing machine came along for a ride!  And fabric and supplies and tools!

All set up for piecing

Up on the agenda was Row #5 of the Daring Downton Debacle Challenge Quilt (May’s guidelines).  The block had to have quarter square triangles in it.  Kind of a happy accident, really,  that I am able to repeat the block from March – Castle in the Air, using the same color scheme.

Since I already repeated the Gentleman’s Fancy block row (also known as Mary’s block), this repeated row will complete the balance of the rows & colors I was hoping to achieve.

Late Sunday, I was able to pin up all the rows on the design wall.

It feels good to have the rows all complete - sashing and borders are next.  Any ideas?  Not yet. I was able to get Season Four of Downton Abbey from the library - maybe that's where I'll find some inspiration.
